Web development
I began designing and developing websites in 2005 for friends and family on a freelance basis, and later I worked professionally in online marketing and web development. In Charlottesville, I worked at The Rimm-Kaufman Group in paid search advertising and search engine optimization. At that time I developed an interest in web design and usability. I later worked as a web developer at Auctiva Corporation in Chico, CA.
Marketing & communications
I currently work as assistant director of communications for the University of Maryland‘s Honors College. My responsibilities include the overseeing, managing, and enhancing the college’s public representation, managing storytelling about the college and its living learning programs, and producing major print and digital communications. I previously worked for six years as the marketing communications coordinator for UMD’s School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies.
Programming projects
I have also worked on some development projects for fun, including a Scrabble Score Calculator (which is available in app form in the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store) and a dance database archive app (coming soon).
Through Samba Jig Productions, I developed and released a smartphone app called SambApp, a Brazilian music metronome for performance and practice.
